Abstract:
The application of information technology continues to expand across industries, regions, and disciplines, with its integration into the forestry-grassland industry emerging as a key focus in both academia and industry. In recent years, researchers both domestically and internationally have conducted extensive innovative studies on smart forestry-grassland initiatives, providing critical support for the digital transformation of the industry. First, this paper defined the core concepts of information technology and the forestry-grassland industry and analyzed their interrelationship in depth. Then applications of information technology in forestry-grassland management were reviewed. Second, key insights and best practices of applications of information technology were summarized based on typical practice cases in production, including integrated and collaborative technology deployment, demand-driven technological solutions, data-driven decision-making, and synergies between informatization and mechanization. Finally, a strategic framework to deepen the integration of information technology into the forestry-grassland industry was proposed, focusing on three key dimensions of enhancing technological convergence, strengthening theoretical research, and scaling up practical applications. These recommendations aim to provide both a theoretical basis and practical guidance for modernizing China’s forestry-grassland governance systems.
